Pastelli Vibranti - Photography and Travel Journaling in Italy

Venice.  Florence.  Umbria.  Tuscany.  Rome. 

From the Adriatic Sea to the Tyrrhenian Sea. Photograph, sketch and journal your way through Italy with a small group of intrepid travelers. This workshop is designed for the beginning and intermediate artist and will cover materials, basic design, color, and application. 

Some materials will be supplied. We will be sketching from life and photographs.  Evenings will be dedicated to writing an excerpt from the day.  Something that stands out for each individual.  Expect plenty of encouragement and actionable advice.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful location and a special atmosphere that only Italy can offer.

Program:

Fly directly to Venice and spend four nights in the Hotel Pensione Guerrato.  Explore Murano, Burano and all that Venice proper has to offer.  A Gondola ride at night.  Piazza San Marco.  Explore the Grand Canal.

Take a train to Florence to spend one night and visit Michelangelo’s David and the Uffizi Gallery.

Transportation via car to Umbria for five nights in Passignano Sul Trasimeno on the border between Umbria and Tuscany.  Day trips to Montepulciano, Pienza, Panicale, and others. 

Take a train to Rome and spend three nights close to the Colosseum.  Explore the frescos and mosaics.  Walk along the Tiber at night.  Visit the market in Testaccio.  And don’t forget La Dolce Vita—Trastevere!
